Where is everybody?

Ok, it’s almost 8pm, I’m still in the office, toiling away. I’m weaning down my tenure here and JF, but I’m still working with them. I don’t know if I’ll ever truly be gone, I’ll hang around when I’m in the area, I’ll do what I do.

Some bad news. Microsoft is apparently having trouble this year. They’ve had one of their harshest quarters ever, and now they’re looking at laying off 2000-3000 employees this year from their core business, but looking to hire in their advertising department. Music to my ears is that they’re still pursuing an agreement with Yahoo!. As it stands, Google controls all, and I’m not happy with that any more. They’ve gotten too big for their britches, and I’m hoping an agreement between MS and Yahoo! will give a little more competition to the market and make it a little less one-sided. Google needs to know they’re not the end-all be-all, even though they kind of are right now. Microsoft is projecting a further drop in revenue and stock, so it’s going to be tenuous. I’m not a huge fan of Microsoft (Linux user :D), but I like the prospect of competition.
